Buccaneers Sign DE Lawrence Sidbury, Waive CB Crezdon Butler

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have signed DE Lawrence Sidbury, and waived CB Crezdon Butler.

  • Additionally, the Bucs signed former arena league standout CB Varmah Sonie to their practice squad.

Sidbury was a fourth-round draft pick of the Falcons back in 2009, and spent four seasons with them.  He caught on with the Colts in 2013 before being placed on injured reserve before the start of the season.  Sidbury also spent about a month with the Texans after his contract with the Colts expired.

Sidbury has five sacks and 17 tackles in 42 career games.

Butler was signed by the Bucs this September, and appeared in 11 games this season.  He recorded 14 tackles.

Sonie is an interesting case.  This is his first stint in the NFL, but he was very successful with the Portland Thunder of the arena league, registering nine interceptions in 17 career games.
