Buccaneers Waive QB Mike Kafka

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Monday that they have placed QB Mike Kafka on waivers, according to Scott Smith.

  • The Bucs also released WR Eric Page released from their practice squad and placed CB Derrius Brooks on the practice squad injured list.

Tampa Bay will obviously move forward with Mike Glennon as their starter and veteran Josh McCown as their backup.

Kafka, 27, is a former fourth round pick of the Eagles. He played briefly for the Patriots and Jaguars before joining the Buccaneers as a free agent last year.

Kafka hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2011 when he threw for 107 yards and two interceptions over the course of four games for the Eagles.
