Buffalo LB Khalil Mack Visited With Buccaneers Tuesday

According to Bucs DE Steven Means, Buffalo LB Khalil Mack visited the Buccaneers Tuesday, via JoeBucsFan.com.

  • Mack has also visited with the LionsFalcons, Browns, Vikings, Rams and Texans in recent weeks.

The visit is interesting for a few reasons.  First, it’s unclear where Mack would fit in Head Coach Lovie Smith’s 4-3 defense.  While Tampa could surely find a position for someone with Mack’s talent, many believe he is a better fit as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 base.

Additionally, the Bucs biggest needs appear to be on the offensive side of the ball.  In the unlikely event that Mack falls to Tampa’s No. 7 pick, they would likely face a difficult decision between addressing a need, and selecting the best player available.

Last year, Mack totaled 100 tackle — 19 of which were for a loss — 10.5 sacks, three interceptions, five forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns.

We have the Jaguars selecting Mack at No. 3 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
