Update:
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that reports that Dolphinsย DE Cameron Wake “doesn’t plan to show up to workouts without a new deal.”
Considering his production and where he is in his career, this is a pretty obvious move for Wake. His value couldn’t be higher and the longer he waits to secure a long-term deal, the more likely he’ll have to lower his asking price. This could develop into a prettyย contentiousย situation for the Dolphins depending on how they choose to approach it.
Things keep getting better for the Dolphins.

Jason La Canfora of NFL.comย reports thatย Miami Dolphins DE Cameron Wake made the decision to not attend the start of the team’s OTA’s today. La Canfora adds that Wake “could be absent for quite some time.”
While it’s worth mentioning that these workouts are notย mandatory, it does suggest that Wake is willing to holding out if his contract isn’t addressed at some point in the near future.
According to La Canfora, the Dolphins have told him that they would like make his contractย “more in line with his performance,” but talks between the two sides haven’t made much of any progress thus far.
Wake, 30, has been a standout player since signing with the Dolphins and is clearly their only legitimate pass rusher right now. He’s set to make ย $650,000 for the upcoming season, so you can see why he’s considering not showing up for their offseason workouts.
