Cardinals CB Ronald Zamort Suffers Torn ACL

Cardinals CB Ronald Zamort suffered a torn ACL during Saturday’s practice and will now miss the entire 2017 season, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

Zamort’s injury came shortly after he received some reps with the first-team, as the Cardinals continue to search for a starting cornerback opposite of Patrick Peterson.

The Cardinals will likely place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Zamort, 25, signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in May of 2016. Unfortunately, the Cardinals cut him loose coming out of the preseason before later adding him to their practice squad.

Zamort returned to the Cardinals on a future/reserve contract this past January.

During his college career, Zamort recorded 150 tackles, one sack, six interceptions, a forced fumble, two recoveries and 51 pass defenses over the course of 48 games.
