The Arizona Cardinals announced Friday that team owner Michael Bidwill tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the Arizona Republic, Bidwill is currently hospitalized in Rhode Island.
The team announced that Bidwill had been traveling and spending time on the East Coast for several weeks, which is where he’s believed to have contracted the virus.
Bidwill was tested after developing symptoms and his doctor recommended he admit himself to the hospital. According to the Cardinals, Bidwill’s symptoms have subsided and he’s expected to be released sometime this weekend.
Bidwill had been working remotely since the Cardinals’ facility was first shut down in March and hasn’t had any in-person contact with coaches, players or football staff.
The NFL is expected to open training camps later this month on July 28.
We’ll have more regarding Bidwell as the news is available.
