Cardinals Prepared To Start QB Ryan Lindley?

Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic writes that Cardinals starting quarterback job will most likely remain Ryan Lindley‘s until Kevin Kolb is ready to return from his rib injury.

Arizona benched John Skelton after he was 2-7 for just 6 yards passing. Lindley didn’t fare much better as he finished 9-of-20 for 64 yards and had a fumble returned for a touchdown.

He did a nice job I thought in a lot of areas — managing the game, handling the noise, doing some of the things he needed to do in protection,” said head coach Ken Whisenhunt. “He looked comfortable in the pocket, made some good throws.

That’s a little optimistic given how bad things are for the Cardinals. It probably doesn’t matter who’s under center at this point. Opposing defenses are going to apply pressure and take away the run until someone is able to step up and make some plays down the field on a consistent basis.
