According to Farhan Lalji, the Cardinals are signing former Canadian Football League QB Chris Streveler to a futures contract for the 2020 season.
Lalji adds Streveler is expected to have around $100,000 of his contract guaranteed, which should help him make it to training camp. Streveler has worked out for a handful of NFL teams this offseason.
The full list of Cardinals futures includes:
- P Ryan Winslow
- WR Johnnie Dixon
- DL Lyndon Johnson
- OL Sam Jones
- WR A.J. Richardson
- CB Sojourn Shelton
- CB Duke Thomas
- QB Chris Streveler
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Streveler, 25, has spent the past two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL after playing college football at South Dakota. After leading Winnipeg to a Grey Cup title, the team released him to allow him to pursue NFL opportunities.
In 2019, Streveler completed 156 of 234 passing attempts (66.7 percent) for 1,564 yards, eight touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also rushed 127 times for 726 yards and 12 touchdowns.
