According to Mike Garafolo, the Cardinals are signing LB Devon Kennard to a three-year, $20 million deal that includes $12.25 million guaranteed.
Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals are signing free-agent LB Devon Kennard to a three-year contract.
Kennard, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Giants back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,364,560 contract with the Giants and signed a three-year, $18.75 million deal with the Lions in 2018.
However, Detroit elected to cut Kennard on Tuesday after being unable to find a trade partner for him. According to OverTheCap.com, the Lions made $5,675,000 in cap space and $1,750,000 in dead money by releasing him.
In 2019, Kennard appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and recorded 58 tackles, seven sacks, one forced fumble and two recoveries including one returned for a touchdown. Pro Football Focus rated Kennard as the No. 45 edge defender out of 107 qualifying players.
