Chargers Bring Back Ken Whisenhunt As Offensive Coordinator

Michael Gehlken of theย Union-Tribune San Diegoย reports that the Chargers have brought backย Ken Whisenhunt to be their offensive coordinator.

This comes just over a week after theย Chargersย fired OC Frank Reich.

As soon as the job became available,ย Whisenhunt’s name came up as the guy to watch, given that he was with them for the 2013 season, and some success running their offense.

This led to the Titans hiringย Whisenhunt and giving him a five-year contract to be their head coach. However, even after they used the No. 2 overall pick on Marcus Mariota, Tennessee elected to part ways withย Whisenhunt half-way through his second season with the team.

In 2015,ย the Chargers ranked No. 31ย in rushing and No. 26 in points-per-game, so those are two areas with a lot of room to improve.
