According to Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are hosting free agent QB Geno Smith on a visit Wednesday.
Rapoport says that Chargers HC Anthony Lynnย has been a fan of Smith over the years.
This is the first reported interest in Smith since the free agent market officially opened.
Smith, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $5.019 million contract before signing a one-year contract worth $2 million with the Giants last year.
Smith is once againย testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2017, Smith appeared in two games for the Giants and completed 21 of 36 pass attempts (58.2 percent) for 212 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.
