Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that the “Luis Castillo era has almost certainly come to an end.”
Castillo suffered a broken leg earlier into the season and was replaced by a number of young players such asย Cam Thomas, Corey Liuget and Vaughan Martin. The Chargers would have to pay Castillo $4.9 million next season which leaves him as an expendable option.
San Diego would have to bring some additional talent at defensive tackle is Castillo is released but at least they would be addressing an issue that they’ll be confronted with at some point in the near future.
