Chargers Promote RB Russell Hansbrough, Waive G Brett Boyko

The Los Angeles Chargers officially waived G Brett Boyko on Friday and promoted RB Russell Hansbrough to their active roster.

Hansbrough, 24, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in May of last year. He was one of the team’s final roster cuts before signing onto their practice squad.

After a brief stint on the Giants’ practice squad, Hansbrough was signed to the Buccaneers’ active roster and he was on and off of their practice squad this season before recently signing on with the Chargers.

During his four-year college career, Hansbrough recorded 467 rushing attempts for 2,344 yards (5.0 YPC) and 15 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 30 receptions for 128  receiving yards (4.3 YPC).
