The San Diego Chargers announced Monday that they have promoted WR Geremy Davis to their active roster and waived CB Jeff Richards.
Davis, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Giants back in 2015.ย He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but was later cut loose at the start of the 2016 season.
The Giants added him to their practice squad a few months into the season before losing him to the Chargers and he finished out the year in San Diego. The Chargers brought Davis back on a one-year,ย exclusive rights contract this past March before cutting him loose coming out of the preseason.
Los Angeles officially re-signed him to their practice squad last week.
In 2016,ย Davis appeared in three games but did not catch a single pass for the Chargers.
