Chargers Re-Sign ERFA DE Isaac Rochell

The Los Angeles Chargers officially re-signed DE Isaac Rochell on Friday to a one-year exclusive rights contract for the 2019 season.

Rochell, 23, was taken in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chargers. He originally signed a four-year, $2.48 million contract with the Chargers as a rookie and was set to make a base salary of $465,000 when Los Angeles elected to cut him loose at the start of the 2017 season.

The Chargers re-signed Rochell to their practice squad before eventually calling him toward the end of the 2017 season.

In 2018, Rochell appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and recorded 28 tackles, five sacks, an interception, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 92 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.
