The San Diego Chargers released veteranย DT Mitch Unrein on Thursday, according to NFL transactions release.
This move will create a roster spot for TEย Kyle Miller,ย who was signed to a contract today.
Unrein, 28, signed a two-year, $1.9 million contract with the Chargers back in March. He was set to make base salaries of $750,000 and $900,000 over the next two years.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing willย Unrein free up $625,000 in available cap space while creating $250,000 in dead money.
In 2014,ย Unreinย appeared in eight games and recorded just a single tackle for the Broncos.ย Pro Football Focusย has himย down for playing just 46 total snaps last year.
