Chargers Place S Jaylen Watkins On IR, Claim S Micah Hannemann

Update:

The Los Angeles Chargers announced that they’ve placed S Jaylen Watkins on injured reserve with a torn ACL and claimed S Micah Hannemann off of waivers from the Browns.

Chargers S Jaylen Watkins is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL during Saturday’s game against the Seahawks, according to Ian Rapoport.

You can expect the Chargers place Watkins on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Watkins, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. He was waived at the start of the 2015 season and had a brief stint on the Bills’ practice squad before returning to the Eagles toward the end of the 2015 season.

Last year, the Eagles signed Watkins to a one-year exclusive rights deal. Philadelphia declined to tender him a restricted offer this offseason and he later signed a one-year deal with the Chargers.

In 2017, Watkins appeared in 12 games for the Eagles and recorded 17 tackles and no interceptions.
