ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chargers are signing former Broncos G Orlando Franklin to a five-year, $36.5 million contract that includes $20 million guaranteed.
- Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune reported last night that the deal with Franklin was “unofficially done.”
Franklin, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos. He finished playing out his four-year, $4,356,000 rookie contract that included $1,668,000 guaranteed and is in position to be one of the more interesting offensive free agents in the coming weeks.
Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 13 guard out of 78 qualifying players last year. We had Franklin listed as the No. 19 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
