The Chargers announced that they have promoted S Shalom Luani from their practice squad to their active roster in time for Week 9 and waived CB Tevaughn Campbell to make room for him.
Luani, 25, is a former seventh-round pick by the Raiders out of Washington State back in 2017. He was entering the second year of his four-year rookie contract when he was traded to the Seahawks coming out of last year’s preseason.
Seattle re-signed Luani as an exclusive rights free agent entering the 2019 season. However, he was among the Seahawks’ final roster cuts in September.
In 2017, Luani appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 18 total tackles, two pass defenses, and no interceptions.
