The Chargers will fire GM A.J. Smith and HC Norv Turner at the conclusion of the season, according for the Union-Tribune San Diego.
Owner Dean Spanos plans to eat a total of $7 million over the next two seasons, owingย Turner $3 million for the final year of his contract and Smith $4 million for the last two years of his deal, respectively.
With the Chargers sitting at a disappointing 4-8 record and the Turner/Smith combo having long been on the NFL hot seat radar, this move seems somewhat overdue.
