The Los Angeles Chargers officially placed OT Tyler Johnstone on waivers Friday.
Johnstone, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon back in May of last year. He stands to make base salaries of $540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the contract.
Unfortunately, Johnstone was waived with an injury designation during the preseason and later reverted to the Chargers’ injured reserve list where he remained for the entire 2016 season.
During his college career at Oregon, Johnstone started 39 games and was a first-team All-Pac 12 as a senior.
