The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed WR Gehrig Dieter to a contract for the 2020 season on Tuesday, according to Field Yates.
Dieter’s practice squad contract just expired on Monday.
Dieter, 26, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason and spent the year on the Chiefs’ practice squad.
Kansas City brought Dieter back on a futures contract last year only to cut him coming out of the preseason. He was added to their practice squad before eventually being called up late last season.
The Chiefs waived Dieter from injured reserve with a settlement and he was on and off of their roster last year.
In 2019, Dieter appeared in two games for the Chiefs, but did not catch a pass.
