Chiefs Officially Cut 20 Players Including QBs Aaron Murray & Kevin Hogan

The Kansas City Chiefsย have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 53ย players. Here’s the list of roster cuts up to this point:

  4. DB Jamell Fleming
  5. OL Reid Fragel
  6. WR Frankie Hammond Jr.
  7. QB Kevin Hogan
  8. S Jeron Johnson
  9. DL David King
  10. LB Andy Mulumba
  11. QB Aaron Murray
  12. C Daniel Munyer
  13. TE Brian Parker
  14. OL Jarrod Pughsley
  15. S Shak Randolph
  16. RB Darrin Reaves
  17. LB Terrance Smith
  18. DL Jimmy Staten
  19. T Zach Sterup
  20. DB Brock Vereen

Fleming, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2012. However, he lasted just over a year in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed by the Jaguars.

Fleming had a brief stint with the Ravens in 2014 before being signed off their practice squad by the Chiefs. Kansas City re-signed him to a contract this past March.

In 2015, Fleming appeared in all 16 games and totaled 21 tackles, a fumble recovery and five pass defenses.

Johnson, 27, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State back in 2011. He spent four years in Seattle before signingย aย two-year, $2.5 million with the Redskins last year.

However, Washington elected to cut him loose in a move that freedย up $1,068,750 in available cap space. The Chiefs signed him to a contract close to a month ago.

In 2015,ย Johnson appeared in 14 games and recorded 27 tackles. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 195 total snaps last year.

Murray, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2014. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2,402,424 rookie contractย and stands to make a base salary ofย $600,000 for the 2016 season.

Murray has yet to appear in an NFL game.
