Chiefs Re-Sign OLB Tamba Hali To Three-Year, $22M Deal

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs and LB Tamba Hali reached agreement on three-year deal that will allow him to finish out his career in Kansas City.

  • Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that Hali receives a three-year, $22 million deal from the Chiefs with nearly $12 million guaranteed.

Hali’s contract officially voided on Saturday, but it appeared as though a return to K.C. was the most likely outcome, even though he probably had interest from other teams.

Hali, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2006. He has spent all 10 years of his NFL career in Kansas City and even took a $3 million pay cut to be back with the Chiefs last year.

In 2015, Hali appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and recorded 48 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 11 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
