Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that the Kansas City Chiefs worked out veteranย WR Santonio Holmes in recent days.
The Chicago Bears released Holmesย earlier this week as they cleared a roster spot for Marquess Wilson.
Holmes, 30, signed a one-year, $855,000 contract with Bears a few weeks before the start of the season. Chicago was looking for some depth at receiver after Wilson suffered a broken collarbone and was placed on short-term injured reserve.
This season, Holmes has appeared in nine games and caught eight passes for 67 yards while also contributing as a punt returner.
Before the Bears signed him, Holmes found almost no interest from NFL teams, so this is at least a positive sign that he could get another opportunity with a a receiver-need team.
