Colts Place Veteran OLB Trent Cole On Injured Reserve

The  Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve placed veteran OLB Trent Cole on injured reserve.

Cole is dealing with a back injury, but there’s at least a chance that the Colts could bring him back at some point later on in the year.

Cole, 33, signed a two-year, $14 million contract that included $8 million guaranteed with the Colts last year. He was set to make a base salary of $4.25 million in 2016 before agreeing to a restructured contract this past March.

In 2016, Cole has appeared in two games and recorded three tackles and no sacks for the Colts. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 41 edge defender out of 97 qualifying players.
