The NFL announced Friday that Colts QB Chad Kelly has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2019 regular season for violating the NFLโs personal conduct policy.
This suspension stems from Kelly’s arrest back in October of last year that ultimately led to him being cut by the Broncos.
Kelly will be allowed to participate in the Colts’ offseason practices and in their preseason games.
Kelly, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.464 million contract that included a $64,270 signing bonus, but was waived in October of last year after being arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing.
Last month, Kelly pleaded guilty to misdemeanor second-degree criminal trespassing and was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and 50 hours of community service. He had the first-degree felony first-degree criminal trespassing charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.
During his college career, Kelly threw for 6,858 yards while completing 63.9 percent of his passes to go along with 50 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
