Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Colts are set to tryout free agent running backs Lamar Miller, Darius Jackson and Benny LeMay this week.
The Colts just lost RB Marlon Mack for the season and plan to move forward with rookie Jonathan Taylor, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines for the time being. However, it appears as though they want to take a look at some available options.
Miller recently visited with the Bills.
Miller, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with Miami before agreeing to a four-year, $26 million contract that included $14 million guaranteed with the Texans back in 2016.
Miller made a base salary of $5.5 million for the 2019 season and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason before signing on with the Patriots. New England released him coming out of training camp.
In 2018, Miller appeared in 13 games for the Texans and rushed for 917 yards on 193 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 23 receptions for 163 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.
