Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Colts worked out free agent DT Chris Jones on Tuesday.
This is the first reported interest in Jones since the free agent market officially opened.
Jones, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Texans back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Houston before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Patriots.
After one year in New England, Jones was claimed off of waivers shortly before last year’s draft, this time by the Dolphins. Unfortunately, Miami waived him as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players but would later bring him back.
Jones wound up finishing out the 2016 season in San Francisco after the 49ers grabbed him off of waivers. He returned to San Francisco last year on a one-year deal.
In 2017, Jones appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins and 49ers and recorded 23 tackles and no sacks.
