Report: Eagles Reach An Agreement With C Jason Kelce On A Six Year Extension

Update:

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Eagles have reached an agreement withย C Jason Kelce on a six-year extension worth $37.5 million and includes $13 million guaranteed.

  • Caplan adds thatย Kelce’s new contract maxes out at $40.11 million. D
  • This deal makes him one of the top-five highest centers in the league based on average salaryย and guaranteed money.

The Eagles spent aย sixth-round pick on him back in 2011 out of the University ofย Cincinnati. His 2013 season was by far his best year in the NFL, despite a dealing with a coaching change.ย Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 1 center in league this season and was especially good at run-blocking.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirerย mentions that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles announced a new contract extension for Cย Jason Kelce at some point in the near future.

  • McLance adds that a deal could be announced as soon asย Thursday morning.

Reuben Frank of CSN Phillyย previous reported that although the Eagles and Kelce have yet to open discussions regarding a contract extension, aย league source has informed him that the two parties are expected to talk this offseason.

Frank added that Kelce could be in line for aย multi-year contract worth $4.5 –ย $5 million annually.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing more regarding Kelce and a potential contract extension in the coming months.
