Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Eagles have reached an agreement with C Jason Kelce on a six-year extension worth $37.5 million and includes $13 million guaranteed.
- Caplan adds that Kelce’s new contract maxes out at $40.11 million. D
- This deal makes him one of the top-five highest centers in the league based on average salary and guaranteed money.
The Eagles spent a sixth-round pick on him back in 2011 out of the University of Cincinnati. His 2013 season was by far his best year in the NFL, despite a dealing with a coaching change. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 1 center in league this season and was especially good at run-blocking.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer mentions that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles announced a new contract extension for C Jason Kelce at some point in the near future.
- McLance adds that a deal could be announced as soon as Thursday morning.
Reuben Frank of CSN Philly previous reported that although the Eagles and Kelce have yet to open discussions regarding a contract extension, a league source has informed him that the two parties are expected to talk this offseason.
Frank added that Kelce could be in line for a multi-year contract worth $4.5 – $5 million annually.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing more regarding Kelce and a potential contract extension in the coming months.
