Cowboys Block Commanders From Interviewing DBs Coach Al Harris

Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys are blocking the Commanders from interviewing multiple coaches including TEs coach Lunda Wells and DBs coach Al Harris.

Dallas did, however, give Washington permission to speak with assistant DL coach Sharrif Floyd and quality control coach/defensive assistant Pete Ohnegian.

Dan Quinn is obviously looking to fill out his staff with some of the coaches he worked with in Dallas. Harris is a valued coach given the work he’s done with the team’s DBs the last few years.

Harris, 49, is a former sixth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 1997. He played for the Buccaneers, Eagles, Packers, Dolphins and Rams over the course of 15 seasons.

Harris took his first coaching job in 2012 as an intern for the Dolphins. From there he held multiple positions for the Chiefs and spent a year at FAU before the Cowboys hired him as their defensive backs coach in 2020.
