Dan Graziano of ESPN reports that the Cowboys are “monitoring” the availability of Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin and Dolphins WR DeVante Parker ahead of next week’s trade deadline.
According to Graziano, the Cowboys aren’t sure whether they’ll make a move for a receiver at this point and they’re still looking for help at safety, but adding a safety would be more of a depth move at this point.
This comes after the report that the Cowboys have been doing due diligence on Raiders WR Amari Cooper, so they’re clearly a team to watch in the coming weeks.
Benjamin, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7.66 million contract that includes $6.19 million guaranteed when the Panthers picked up his fifth-year option last year.
Carolina elected to trade Benjamin to the Billsย third- and seventh-round picks last year.
Benjamin will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.
In 2018, Benjamin has appeared in six games for the Bills and caught 10 passes for 146 yards receiving and one touchdown.
We’ll have more regarding the Cowboys as the news is available.
