The Dallas Cowboys announced on Monday that they’ve officially signed CB Maurice Canady, CB C.J. Goodwin and K Greg Zuerlein to contracts.
The @dallascowboys signed the following unrestricted free agents on Monday:
CB Maurice Canady (Virginia)
CB C.J. Goodwin (California-PA)
K Greg Zuerlein (Missouri Western)— Dallas Cowboys Public Relations (@DallasCowboysPR) March 30, 2020
All three signings were reported last week.
Canady, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.44 million contract when the Ravens waived him coming out of the preseason.
Baltimore re-signed Canaday to their practice squad soon after before being promoted a few weeks into the regular season. The Ravens waived him in November but was quickly claimed by the Jets.
In 2019, Canady appeared in five games for the Jets and eight for the Ravens, recording 45 total tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 20 overall cornerback out of 113 qualifying players.
Goodwin, 30, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of California of Pennsylvania back in 2014. He bounced on and off their practice squad before signing on with the Falcons’ practice squad.
Goodwin had brief stints with the Bengals, Giants, and 49ers before signing on with the Bengals during the preseason. Unfortunately, he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Bengals’ practice squad.
Dallas signed Goodwin off of Cincinnati’s practice squad to their active roster in October. He’s been with the team since.
In 2019, Goodwin appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded seven tackles.
Zuerlein, 32, is a former six-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He has played all eight seasons for the Rams and just finished out the final year of his three-year, $6.75 million contract that included $2.375 million guaranteed.
In 2019, Zuerlein appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and converted 24 of 33 field goals attempts (72.7 percent) to go along with all 42 extra point tries.
