The Cowboys announced the signing of DT Brian Schaefering on Wednesday afternoon, according to the team’s website.
This is in response to the recent occurrences related to DT Josh Brent‘s intoxicated manslaughter incident. The move fills an obvious need on their defensive line now that Brent is done for the season.
Schaefering has experience in defensive coordinator Rob Ryan’s scheme and at 6’4″, 292 pounds, he’ll be an agile nose tackle in the Cowboy scheme.
