Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys are signing TE Blake Jarwin to a three-year, $24.25 million extension that includes $9.25 million guaranteed.
It was reported earlier this month that Dallas was likely to use a second-round tender on Jarwin, who was a restricted free agent. (NFLTR)
Dallas had reportedly started extension talks with Jarwin’s agent at the Combine, so it is clear they made enough progress to finalize a deal.
The Cowboys may end up moving on from long-time TE Jason Witten this offseason, which means Jarwin could be in line for a much larger role this year.
Jarwin, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State back in 2017. He joined their practice squad coming out of the preseason his rookie year and was promoted to their active roster shortly after.
In 2019, Jarwin appeared in all 16 games and recorded 31 receptions for 365 yards receiving (11.8 YPC) and three touchdowns.
