Cowboys Restructure LB Sean Lee’s Contract, Will Pay Him $3.5M Plus Incentives

According to Ian Rapoport, the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to restructure LB Sean Lee’s contract and ensure he remains with the team.

Rapoport reports that Lee will earn $3.5 million with an opportunity to earn his full $7 million salary by reaching incentives in the contract.

Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones said last month during an interview with 105.3 The Fan that there is โ€œno one we would love to have back moreโ€ than Lee.

โ€œWhat a special player he is being the wily veteran he is, he probably played the best in that [Rams] game,โ€ Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. โ€œHe had about 24 plays and I would say he played better, probably played the position better than anybody in that particular game. We want him back. I think heโ€™s a leader on this football team.โ€

Lee, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2010. He’s entering the final year of his seven-year, $42.63 million that included $16.1 million guaranteed.

In 2018, Lee appeared in five games for the Cowboys and recorded 27 tackles, a half sack, a fumble recovery and a pass defense.

We’ll have more on this story as it becomes available.
