Darrelle Revis Still Expecting A New Contract At Some Point

Jets CB Darrelle Revis mentioned that โ€œsomethingโ€™s got to happen sooner or later in terms of my future with theโ€ Jets.

โ€œI want to be a Jet for life,โ€ Revis said, via the New York Daily News. โ€œBut if management doesnโ€™t see fit, then I have to move on.โ€

Looks like the Jets will still have to address his contract at some in the next year. Revis is still only 27 -years-old, so he has a number of productive seasons ahead and another Pro Bowl year, would give him more than enough leverage to demand a new contract.

Rich Cimini reports that Jets CB Darrelle Revis has reported to training camp on time, even though he didnโ€™t receive the new contract that he was looking for.

This is obviously a great sign for the Jets, as Revis will now honor the deal he signed a few years ago. Having the best cornerback in the game under contract for a $4.5 million salary this season is certainly a good thing for team that has little cap space to work with in recent years.
