Dolphins Re-Sign Four ERFAs Including DE Jonathan Woodard

The Miami Dolphins officially re-signed four exclusive rights free agents on Monday including G Isaac Asiata, G Jesse Davis, OT Zach Sterup and DE Jonathan Woodard.

Woodard, 25, is a former seventh-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Central Arkansas. After completing the first year of his rookie contract, Jacksonville waived him coming out of last year’s preseason.

The Falcons signed him to their practice squad but released him after a couple weeks. He signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad in December of 2017 and returned to Miami on a futures contract last year.

In 2018, Woodard appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded 10 tackles and one sack.

Sterup, 26, wound up going undrafted out of Nebraska back in 2017 but received an invite to participate in the Chiefs’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Chiefs later signed him to a three-year, $1.62 million contract.

Unfortunately, Sterup was waived him coming out of the preseason. He had a brief stint with the Jets before signing on to the Browns’ practice squad.

The Dolphins signed Sterup off of the Browns’ practice squad during the 2017 season and he’s remained in Miami ever since.

In 2018, Sterup appeared in six games for the Dolphins and made one start.
