Barry Jackson reports that the Dolphins will interview special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi for their head-coaching job early next week.
Jackson says that the two parties are working to set something up for Monday, but there’s no guarantee as of now.
Rizzi has actually drawn a lot of support from his former players and will be an interesting candidate to watch.

- Bears DC Vic Fangio (Requested)
- Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richardย (Expected)
- Dolphins STs coordinatorย Darren Rizzi (Scheduled)
- Saints DCย Dennis Allen (Requested)
Rizzi, 48, began his coaching career at Colgate back in 1993. He worked for a number of schools before being hired as Rhode Island’s head coach for the 2008 season.
Rizzi lasted just one year at Rhode Island and led the team to a record of 3-9 before he was replaced.
The Dolphins hired Rizzi as their special teams coordinator in 2010 and he’s remained in the position ever since.
