Dolphins & Broncos Request Interviews With Bears DC Vic Fangio

Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins and Broncos have requested permission to interview Bears DC Vic Fangio for their head coaching vacancies.

Fangio is expected to garner interest from other teams as well, given that he’s been one of the top defensive coordinators in the NFL for several years now.

Fangio, 60, began his NFL coaching career with the Saints back in 1986 as their linebackers coach. He has worked for several teams including the Panthers, Colts, Texans, Ravens and 49ers before he was hired by the Bears as their defensive coordinator back in 2015.

Fangio’s contract expired last year, but the Bears re-signed him to a new three-year contract.

In 2018, the Bears’ defense ranks No. 3 in yards allowed, No. 1 in points allowed, No. 1 in rushings yards allowed and No. 7 in passing yards allowed.
