Dolphins Interviewing Saints DC Dennis Allen Saturday

Adam Beasley reports that the Dolphins meeting with Saints DC Dennis Allen is taking place on Saturday.


Ian Rapoport reports the Dolphins requested to interview Saints DC Dennis Allen for their head-coaching vacancy.

The list of reported interviews for the Dolphins includes:

  1. Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (Scheduled)
  2. Steelers OL Coach Mike Munchak (Requested)
  3. Patriots DC Brian Flores (Interviewed)
  4. Bears DC Vic Fangio (Requested)
  5. Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard (Expected)
  6. Dolphins STs coordinator Darren Rizzi (Expected)
  7. Saints DC Dennis Allen (Requested)

Allen, 46, began his coaching career at Texans A&M as a graduate assistant back in 1996. He took his first NFL coaching position with the Falcons as their defensive quality control coordinator in 2002 before working for the Saints and Broncos.

The Raiders hired Allen as their head coach in 2012 and he spent three years in the position before he was fired. Allen returned to the Saints in 2015 and was promoted to defensive coordinator later that season.
