Dolphins Waive LB James Burgess

The Miami Dolphins announced Thursday that theyโ€™ve waived LB James Burgess to make room for newly signed DL Adolphus Washington.

Burgess, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, among Miamiโ€™s final roster cuts but was later signed to the teamโ€™s practice squad.

After brief stints with the Chargers, Ravens and Jaguars, Burgess signed on to the Brownsโ€™ practice squad during the 2016 season. Cleveland brought him back on a futures contract the following year before waiving him from injured reserve with a settlement in October.

The Dolphins signed Burgess to a futures contract this past January.

In 2018, Burgess appeared in three games and recorded eight tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
