Eagles HC Doug Pederson announced G Brandon Brooks is done for the rest of the season with a separated shoulder, per Jimmy Kempski.
It’s a big blow to the Eagles ahead of their first-round playoff game against the Seahawks this weekend, as Brooks is one of the best guards in the NFL.
Pederson added DE Daeshon Hall tore his ACL on the final play of Sunday’s game against the Giants, per Kempski.
Brooks, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Texans before signing a five-year, $40 million contract with the Eagles that included $21 million guaranteed in 2016.
Brooks was set to make base salaries of $7.5 million over the final two years of the agreement when he signed a four-year extension with the Eagles earlier this season worth $56.2 million in new money and $30 million guaranteed.
In 2019, Brooks has started all 16 games for the Eagles at right guard. Pro Football Focus has Brooks rated as the No. 1 guard out of 81 qualifying players so far this season.
