The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday that they’ve placed TE Zach Ertz on injured reserve and promoted G Jamon Brown and DT T.Y. McGill from to their active roster.
Both Brown and McGill will revert back to the practice squad without clearing waivers on Friday.
Ertz is expected to be out three-to-four weeks with an ankle injury.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list after just three games.
Ertz, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He’s in the fifth year of his six-year, $43.64 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed.
Ertz stands to make base salaries of $7.25 million (2020), and $7.75 million (2021) over the remainder of his deal.
In 2020, Ertz has appeared in six games for the Eagles and caught 24 passes for 178 yards receiving and one touchdown.
