Eagles Release LB Jason Phillips

 

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Tuesday that they have released LB Jason Phillips, per Adam Caplan.

Phillips, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens back in 2009. He later signed a two-year contract with the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent in March of last year.

  • Phillips had a base salary of $730,000 coming his for the 2014 season.

Last year, Phillips tore his right ACL during a training camp practice in late July and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Phillips last appeared in an NFL during the 2012 season while playing for the Carolina Panthers.
