Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed him that the Philadelphia Eagles and RB LeSean McCoy have been working on contract extension. Florio’s source didn’t mentioned how close the two sides were but it would make sense for them to lockup McCoy who has been amazing this season for the team.
McCoy still has another year remaining on his rookie contract but at this point he has outplayed his contract and developed into one of the leagues best running backs.
The only question I have is regarding DeSean Jackson who the Eagles have been reported to be targeting for an extension. Jackson has said that he would like to get a deal done soon but moment seems to be stalling regarding a new contract. Jackson is set to the open market at the end of the season but the Eagles could always use their franchise tag on him depending on how things play out.
