Falcons Activate WR/KR Devin Hester, Place WR Leonard Hankerson On I.R.

The Atlanta Falcons announced that they’ve activated WR/KR Devin Hester from short-term injured reserve on Friday.

Hester, 33, is in the second year of his three-year, $9 million contract that included $3.5 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $2.5 million this season and another $3.5 million in 2016.

Hester has yet to appear in a game this season, due to a turf toe injury.’

In 2014, Hester appeared in all 16 games and recorded 38 receptions for 504 yards receiving to go along with six carries for 36 yards rushings and three total touchdowns. He also contributed 1,128 kick return yards and 240 punt return yards with one punt being returned for a touchdown.

Hankerson, 26, signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Falcons back in March. He’ll make a base salary of $745,000 this season and test the open market for the second straight offseason.

His 2015 season ends with him appearing in eight games and recorded 26 receptions for 327 yards receiving and three touchdowns for the Falcons.
