Falcons Announce Three Coaching Changes

Falcons DC Dan Quinn announced a series of coaching changes on Monday for the second half of the season including:

  • WRs coach Raheem Morris will now become the Falcons’ new secondary coach.
  • RBs coach Dave Brock will coach wide receiver.
  • Offensive assistant and assistant special teams coach Bernie Parmalee will coach running backs coach.

Quinn’s status with the team has been a popular topic the past few weeks, due to the Falcons’ 1-7 start to the season.

Morris, 43, began his coaching career back in 1998 as a graduate assistant at Hofstra. He took his first NFL coaching job in 2002 as a defensive quality control coach with the Buccaneers.

Morris worked his way up to head coach in Tampa Bay before being fired after the 2011 season. After three seasons with the Redskins, the Falcons hired Morris as their assistant head coach/DBs coach in 2015 and he’s been with the team ever since.

In three seasons as the Buccaneers’ head coach, Morris led the team to a record of 17-31 (35.4 percent).
