Adam Schefter reports that free agent RB Devonta Freeman has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent.

Rosenhaus says they want to get a deal done with a new team in the “immediate future.”

โ€œWe want to work out a deal in the immediate future, and we are open to any team,โ€ Rosenhaus said. โ€œHeโ€™s healty, heโ€™s in shape, and Iโ€™m on a mission to have him give a team a lift in late July.โ€

Freeman’s prior agent, Kristin Campbell, notified him that she terminated their relationship a few weeks ago after he turned down a contract from the Seahawks, who later signed Carlos Hyde.

Michael Silver reported that the Jets, Eagles and Jaguars are among the teams that have previously expressed interest in Freeman.

Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians said last month that they would be interested in signing Freeman if he lowered his asking price.

Freeman tweeted a day later that “a number of teams are interested” in him, but he isn’t looking to negotiate through the media.

The Seahawks were reportedly offering Freeman a one-year contract worth up to $4 million with a base value of less than $3 million. Freeman declined Seattle’s offer and the Seahawks opted to give the deal to Hyde instead.

Freeman has left open the possibility of sitting out the 2020 season if his options don’t improve, but refuted rumors of retirement

Freeman, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.7 million contract when he and the Falcons agreed to a five-year, $41.25 million extension that included $22 million guaranteed.

Freeman stood to make base salaries of $6.5 million and $6.3 million over the next two years of the agreement when the Falcons released him this offseason.

In 2019, Freeman appeared in 14 games and rushed for 656 yards on 184 carries (3.6 YPC) and two touchdowns to go along with 59 receptions for 410 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
